June/July Summer Guild Challenge

OK. This is proving to be very difficult to write out. So I will try my best and post it and clean it up later if I need to.

POLL CHANGES
You may have noticed the dramatically huge poll up there. Don't fret, I have my reason(s).

The poll is enormously large because I felt that having "metals" and "colors" as vague options might be too confusing. So I elaborated and broke them into individual options. That really is the big reason for the poll expansion.

But, there is another BIG change to the poll that doesn't stretch your computer screen. YOU CAN CHOOSE UP TO 3 OPTIONS.

The reason for this is that this challenge will span two months. So who says we can't make it a big Summer Challenge and have a lot of choices?

Choices 1 - 17
These are the normal theme choices. For this 2 month challenge, please choose 2 of these. The 2 with the most votes will be the themes for the challenge.

Choices 18 - 25
These are the metal choices. You may augment the theme choices by opting for a specific metal to be used.

Choices 26 - 35
These are the color choices. You can augment your theme choices with one of these.

Or you can choose the 2 themes and not have a 3rd choice. You don't have to choose 3 things.

At this time, I am not using the metals or colors as a theme. I am only using them to augment the themes in choices 1-17.

RULES

The rules for this challenge are changing. But only because this is going to be a Mega Challenge and not the usual two-month challenge.

In past two-month challenges, we have had one theme for 2 months. I'm not doing that this time. For some of us, the summer is a major part of the show schedule. We're crunched trying to make enough for this or that show and inspiration is low. So I think it might be a good thing to have 2 themes for this 2-month challenge. Since this is a different kind of challenge, we need different kinds of rules:

• Each person can submit 6 items. A bigger challenge means a bigger showing, right?
  
• The item(s) must follow the challenge theme. This isn't much different from any other challenge, except you can choose one or the other theme instead of 3 items for each.
  
• The rest of the rules will remain the same. Basically, the items must have an element of chainmaille to them. This challenge will open on June 1 and close on July 31.

SUMMARY

There were changes to the poll (both obvious and not).
The rules were altered for this particular challenge.

If this is too confusing, I will come back and put it all back to normal. But, normal is overrated.

OK. The poll has closed. No one posted anything for last month, so we're just going to jump right into the summer challenge!

The winning options were European and Bracelet. The other ones tied, so use what you want. As long as the entry is 1) a bracelet, 2)a bracelet made with a European weave, and/or 3) something made using a European weave, it counts.

Don't want to do a traditional Euro 4-1, 6-1, etc? Go to M.A.I.L. and pick a European variation that looks like something you want to make. A lot of them have tutorials as well, so have fun with it! They have a literal TON of European-family weaves to choose one.

Entries do not necessarily have to be new creations, but that is preferable. This is a new development, but I think it's one that will stick.

The rules are the same as in the main post, but I'll repeat them:

1.6 entries per member. On Facebook, I posted that it should be 3 entries per member, per month. This isn't exactly right, but it was easier than writing it all out. This challenge will not be composed into a blog entry until the end of July. You can break the entries up as you see fit.
2.The items must follow the challenge theme. This means they can be bracelets of any weave, bracelets of a European-family weave, or something else made with a European-family weave. A little confusing, but it gives you more freedom to move within the challenge.
3.The items must have an element of chainmaille in them.[/b] By this, I mean that the chainmaille should be the focus of the piece.

This challenge will run from June 1 to July 31.

ok I have an item for the challenge it is in the "something" category since it is not a bracelet. I hope that I understood it correctly anyway. It is 4 in 1 weave. The inspiration for this ring was this challenge and that I have always wanted to make a chainmaille ring more mainstream. Hope it qualifies
