I cannot change the character limit on the signatures, but there is a way around the limitations it sets. If you can't fit all the links you want into your signature, and you want to, do the following: - Open a PM to me, or email me at viking.jones.jewelry AT gmail.com
- List your URLs and the text you want to show in BBCode
- Hit send.
When I get it all set up, I will send back a list of seemingly random letters and symbol sets. When you put these into your signature on your profile page (Profile > Modify Profile) they will automatically show up as the links you want. It's a bit complicated, but it works. So if you want a long signature with all of your stuff in it, send me the URL codes. What URL codes, you ask? Use the tag YOUR TEXT HERE[/ url]. Replace the *** with the URL you want to link to, the YOUR TEXT HERE with the text you want displayed, and take out the space in the close tag.

To clarify this a bit, take a look at my signature. The codes that would usually go into a signature like that are way beyond the 400 character limit of ProBoards signatures. So how do I have such a long signature? ProBoards has an admin feature that lets us dictate censored words. Some boards use this to replace curse words with funny words. I'm not using this feature to that ends because we're all adults here. The boards that don't have a long list of words-you-can't-use usually use the censored words feature for other things - like long signatures. With this feature, you have a censor word (the word that is replaced) and a replacement word (the word that replaces the censor word). For example, if I wanted to censor the word chainmaille and replace it with ringed magic, I would input "chainmaille" into the censor word box and "ringed magic" into the replacement word box. Every time someone typed the word chainmaille into a post, it would automatically be replaced with ringed magic. So when I want to replace a word with a link, like in my signature, all I have to do is use this censored words feature. For instance, this is what my signature looks like: Guild Facebook| Guild Plurk| Guild Twitter| Artfire Guild Page| Guild BlogMy Facebook| My deviantArt| My Twitter| My Artfire| My Blog| My Pinterest I also wrapped alignment tags around the text to center it in my signature. In order for you to see my actual signature, I took out some spaces. The way the censored words works is that the censored word has to be written exactly like it is when I put it in the feature. If I put that the word chainmaille is censored, it will only replace the word chainmaille. It will not replace "chainmail," "chain maille," or "maille." So when I pasted in my actual signature, I took out the spaces between the nonsense letters and symbols and the | lines. With the spaces in, the signature appears as it does underneath my posts. So, if you would like to have a longer signature so you can have all your links there here's what you do: - Send me a list of links you want in your signature. Use the code tags (highlight the coded links and click the button with the C in a white block to wrap the code tags) so that I can just copy paste.
- Unless you specify the characters you want to use, I will make some up. Mine consist of #, a g or m for guild or my, a - to separate stuff and then fb, pin, t, af for facebook, pinterest, twitter, and artfire. It makes it easy.
- I will then send you the characters and instructions on how to use them. I will actually have to put spaces in parts or not separate the characters with spaces in order for them not to be automatically replaced. So I'll send them to you and tell you how to use them.
I hope this cleared things up...
