I apologize that I'm only now getting around to posting this. I know that some of you may not be familiar with using BBCode or a ProBoards forum. As an inverted teen, I got familiar with it through role playing and other geeky-fan-stuff.
By using the BBCodes, you can dress up your posts to be more visually interesting. You know, because there are just so many people viewing them.
First, I'll start with links. If you simply wrap the url tags around the text like this:
You get this: www.facebook.com/artfirechainmailleguild
But, if you wrap the url tags around the text with a break like this:
You get this:
Artfire Chainmaille Guild Facebook Page
When writing a post on ProBoards forums, it looks cleaner to link the text in the paragraph instead of inserting the whole bulky link into the paragraph. Know what I mean? Links are generally the biggest things people need to know how to do on a forum. Some forums do the work for you, ProBoards isn't one of them. I realize that the forum Haffina had going had a feature that allowed you to specify the link and the text you wanted for it and it put the code in the post for you. I don't like customizing phpBB forums, so I started this forum on ProBoards because it is much easier regarding permissions and whatnot.
Other codes that are fun to use are:
In the post, these look like:
color
size
bold
italics
underline
strikethrough
To clarify a bit of the long signature announcement, I will be posting a little bit more about what I meant on that thread. So head over there for more fun with codes.
